The idea for DrinkWearz™ was inspired by a Christmas party where crystal wine glasses were marked with handy little markers that are now commonly known as wine charms. We were enamored with the festive additions adorning the glasses and happy that we could find our drinks among a sea of party beverages scattered on counters and tabletops. There were angels and ornaments, bells and bows, snowmen and snowflakes, to name a few – all unique designs. Their convenience sparked the idea that this concept could and should be adapted to disposable beverage containers.

Scenes of parties and picnics, gatherings and games, played through our minds. All those wasted half-empty water bottles, abandoned because no one was sure whose was whose, had to be thrown away when the events ended. The water bottle grabbed our attention first, and we thought adding a creative unique-themed label to the lid would be a simple solution – something that would be durable enough to hold up to condensation yet still be recyclable, and certainly something that would be fun and start conversations. Very quickly, it was clear that our labels would be perfect to stick on any disposable beverage container – not just bottles, but boxes, cans, and cups. And so, while cycling through the rolling countryside of Northern Baltimore County, where ideas outnumbered the spokes on our bikes, DrinkWearz™ – wearables for your drink and even more aptly named because “where’s my drink?” – was born!

We knew we wanted to create a fun and lovable mascot to add market appeal, and so Botzi, our friendly, yet mildly-sassy, water bottle came to life too. We thought if Mr. Peanut® could make it happen for Planters®, Botzi could get it done for DrinkWearz™. Read more about Botzi in his bio, blog, and FAQ’s.
